Hey guys i finally got cps1 & 2 games to connect locally with my friend to play Super Street fighter Alpha 3 and Marvel Vs Capcom. Currently Retroarch doesnt support Adhoc on the Vita but VHBL does.
Its a real pain in the ass to get working properly but if you're interested in doing it too let me know if the info is needed.Edit: Im putting all the files together so i can make this a lot easier for you guys. Keep in mind though this is gonna be a BIG file so if you have a small memcard i wouldnt be so excited about it unless you plan on playing only one game '/.Alright so here we go, Things you will need are:1. A HACKED HENvita. The PsTv already supports up to 4 players so player 2 press start maybe?2. VHBL ( You should already have VHBL or a psp demo lying around waiting for adrenaline right? '/)3.

The correct ROM set and/or parent roms. Just google it.4. PATIENCENow lets get to it. Using the link provided below download the files needed to install the CPS2 emulator. Im pretty sure you guys know how to get different emulators inside VHBL. In case you dont know You first need a PSP game or demo, Once downloaded back up the demo/game to qcma on your Pc for safe keeping. Then open up Vita shell and navigate to ux0:pspemu/PSP/game/GameIDFolder once inside the game's root Folder Drag the PBOOT.PBP of VHBL into the folder.Back out and now enter ux0:PSPEMU/PSP/SAVEDATA, In this folder we drag our VHBL01234 folder.
This is the save file used for VHBL obviously. If there isnt a SAVEDATA folder inside ux0:PSPEMU/PSP simply create a folder called such. After doing all that you would think VHBL is ready to go right?, no, turn off your vita and wait about 5 seconds ( you dont have to wait but y'know. Boot the vita into safe mode by holding the PLAYSTATION BUTTON, POWER and RIGHT TRIGGER for about 5secs or so. Once the menu pops up select rebuild database, This will fuck up your folders and icons but who really cares? You're vita will automatically restart and VHBL will be waiting there for you. In its current state it does nothing so you must add the programs you want for it to be more than a custom bubble.Any VHBL tutorial will tell you to create a folder called VHBL inside savedata but this is completely unnecessary and dumb since the VHBL01234 folder is already inside it so just Create a folder with whatever name you like just make sure it is inside ux0:PSPEMU/PSP/SAVEDATA or else -insert herbert from family guy. Inside SaveData is where all your programs must placed in order for VHBL to find it!Now go get the files from the linksCps2Adhoc (vita): (171MB, can be less)VHBL for FW3.60:Got everything installed properly?
Good, now lets move on to actually launching these god damn roms. Fortunately for you guys i've already made presets to the emulator so games should run without you ever needing to fuck with the emulator.
But, there is always a but. If you plan on adding more Roms the problem you will face is the emu will not be able to read the roms at all.
Well the roms need to be converted and Cached first. I included the ROM converter inside the folder, this also creates a cache file of the rom.
You must get this Cache file, move it from your PC into ux0:PSPEMU/PSP/SAVEDATA/CSP2Adhoc/Cache/ on your vita's MEMCARD. The games should load without hitch now. I included 4 roms with the emulator: Street Fighter Alpha 3, Xmen vs Street Fighter, Gigawing and Alien Vs Predator.
These roms and a few other should work without problemsThere are 2 ways to load a rom, In ADhoc mode or regular mode, to select which mode to use simply press SQUARE for Adhoc mode and CIRCLE for normal mode. You will see a pop up box appear with rom loading info on screen followed by the game's start up screen. Pressing the Right Trigger will bring up the emulator's Help menu so you can look at the keys there. When using ADhoc mode both Vitas or Vita-Psp must load the game in Adhoc mode. The game will decrypt, the cache will be loaded, the Server will be created, depending on who wants to be host somebody should press O. The second player must accept the connection before the game actually boots. Once done everything else is automatic, Just put in 2 coins and enjoy you ungrateful bitches.oh yeah.
To bring up in game menu press SELECT+START. Be careful though because you might exit the emulation if you do too many presses.
You can change the Aspect ratio, controls etc from this menu.this works on 3.63 too BUUUUUT you'll need a hacked vita to even get VHBL in the first place. There are disadvantages though like not being able to delete and add roms because you can no longer access the memcard using vitashell. Basically if your friend on 3.63 wants vhbl he will have to come back to you everytime to reload roms aaaand have his memcard formatted in the process. You only get one chance to get it right or start the whole process over again. Just make sure you want those roms and see yourself playing them a lot if you're on 3.63proof:.

We were planning on making a Justin Timberlake reference for this article, but we realized it was a lot tougher than it seemed, so let's keep it straight. NJ's released yet another version of his emulator programs, as well as a bugfix to the source codes. For those who haven't heard of it, CPS1PSP and CPS2PSP are game emulators for the Capcom Play System 1 and 2 lines of arcade titles. MVSPSP, on the other hand, plays NeoGeo games.Earlier versions of the emulators had varying problems with lag and sound quality which, little by little, were alleviated with each new release. Now it seems that these latest versions are Santa's way of saying Merry Christmas to programmers, as the lag seems to have disappeared. As far as we can tell from the translations of the text, NJ realized that unzipping the cache files of games into a folder with the same name would basically remove almost all the lag in playing any of the said games. Yes folks, that means near-perfect emulation for all three programs. At the cost of using up more space on your PSP.He's also released a bugfix to the source code, so if you feel like dissecting the information and giving him some feedback on his webpage, feel free to do so. You'll need Japanese language support on your PC to read his readme files, but you should be able to translate them to the net once you've done so.
